AI is a problem for artists as it is easy to use to generate lovely images in the style of any famous artist. However, AI is also a valuable resource for artists as we can use it to generate ideas and stimulate our imagination.

 

I teach that the process of creating art is important, not the final product. If you let it, your painting will lead you to an alternative reality made from paint and canvas. It's okay to use any resources to guide you on your journey.

 

Artists have always drawn inspiration from the works of their peers, using them as a springboard for their creations. AI, in this context, serves a similar purpose.  In my teaching, we leverage AI to refine our ideas for the paintings we envision, and even during the painting process, AI can be a 

source of creative inspiration.
