Artist/Gallery notes
One of a series of paintings of Perth that I did from memory in a small rural village in the NE of Thailand. Point Walter, Blackwall Reach and beyond. So many memories. Walking out across the spit at night with good and merry friends with a wine glass in one hand and a cask in the other. Isolated in the dark, surrounded by the black of the river, the sparkling lights of the houses on the distant shores of Mosman Park, Claremont, Melville and Applecross. The phosphorescence in the water and the twinkling stars of a sky so close you could touch it.
